This article explains how to enable the Rentals feature in BridalLive Point‑of‑Sale and assign the required user role permissions so your team can begin using Rentals.
The Rentals feature must be enabled by BridalLive before it can be configured within your store.
Requirements & Important Notes
- Stores cannot enable Rentals on their own.
- The Rentals feature is enabled by BridalLive at the license level.
- Once enabled by BridalLive, the store can proceed with user role permissions and setup.
- The Rentals feature may require additional licensing or fees. Please contact BridalLive to request access.
- After permissions are updated, users may need to refresh or log out and back in to see the Rentals menu.
Step 1: Request Rentals Enablement from BridalLive
Before Rentals can be used, the feature must be enabled on your BridalLive license.
- Contact BridalLive Support or your account representative.
- Request that the Rentals feature be enabled for your account.
- Once enabled, BridalLive will update your license.
After this step is completed, your store can move forward with user role permissions.
Step 2: Assign Rentals Permissions to User Roles
After BridalLive enables Rentals on your license, user roles must be updated to allow access.
- Log in to BridalLive Point‑of‑Sale.
- Navigate to Settings > Users & Security > User Roles.
- Locate the user role you want to update.
- Click Edit next to the role.
- Scroll to the Rentals permissions section.
- Enable the appropriate permissions for that role.
Recommended Permissions for Administrators
To reduce setup and ensure full access, we recommend granting all Rentals permissions to Administrator roles, including:
- Create rentals
- Edit rentals
- View rentals
- Search rentals
- Delete rentals
- Void rentals
- View rental items
- Add rental items
- Edit rental items
- Import rental items
- Delete rental items
- Duplicate rental items
- Click Save and Close.
- Refresh the application.
Step 3: Confirm Rentals Access
Once permissions are applied:
- A Rentals icon (tuxedo icon) appears in the left navigation menu.
- Hovering over Rentals displays access to rental items, inventory, and rental orders.
If the Rentals menu does not appear:
- Confirm BridalLive has enabled Rentals on your license
- Verify the user role includes Rentals permissions
- Refresh the page or log out and back in
