Retail Factor, Retail Factor Plus, and Tariffs allow you to automatically calculate and adjust Retail Prices based on an item’s Order Cost.
These settings can be configured at the Vendor level and, in the case of Tariffs, also at the individual Item level.
Where to Set Retail Factor and Tariffs
Vendor Level
Navigate to Inventory, select Search Vendors, select your Vendor, and open the Contact Information page.
On the Vendor record, you will see fields for:
Retail Factor
Retail Factor Plus
Tariff
These settings will automatically apply to new items created under that Vendor.
Example shown:
Vendor: Maison Elara
Retail Factor: 3X
Retail Factor Plus: $250.00
Tariff: $200.00
Item Level
You can also apply or adjust a Tariff directly on an individual item by editing the Tariff field on the Item Information page.
This allows flexibility if a specific style has a different tariff amount than the Vendor default.
How Retail Pricing Is Calculated
Retail pricing is calculated in the following order:
Apply Retail Factor to the Order Cost
Add Retail Factor Plus
Add Tariff
Formula:
((Order Cost × Retail Factor) + Retail Factor Plus) + Tariff
Example Calculation
Order Cost: $1,250
Retail Factor: 3X
Retail Factor Plus: $250
Tariff: $200
Step 1: Apply Retail Factor
$1,250 × 3 = $3,750
Step 2: Add Retail Factor Plus
$3,750 + $250 = $4,000
Step 3: Add Tariff
$4,000 + $200 = $4,200
Final Retail Price: $4,200
Retail Factor Options Explained
Retail Factor can be set in three different ways:
Currency ($)
Adds a fixed amount to the Order Cost.
Example:
Order Cost: $500
Retail Factor: $300
Retail Price: $800
$500 + $300 = $800
Percentage (%)
Multiplies the Order Cost by a percentage.
Example:
Order Cost: $500
Retail Factor: 250%
Retail Price: $1,250
$500 × 250% = $1,250
Multiplier (X)
Multiplies the Order Cost by a whole number.
Example:
Order Cost: $500
Retail Factor: 3X
Retail Price: $1,500
$500 × 3 = $1,500
Retail Factor Plus
Retail Factor Plus is added after the Retail Factor calculation.
Example:
Order Cost: $500
Retail Factor: 3X
Retail Factor Plus: $100
(($500 × 3) + $100) = $1,600
Retail Factor Plus always applies before the Tariff.
Tariff
The Tariff is added last, after both Retail Factor and Retail Factor Plus.
Tariffs are commonly used to offset import or vendor tariff costs and can be tracked using the Items with Tariff Smart Filter.
Example:
Order Cost: $500
Retail Factor: 3X
Retail Factor Plus: $100
Tariff: $150
(($500 × 3) + $100) + $150 = $1,750
Using the Smart View to Track Inventory with Tariffs
You can quickly view all items with a Tariff greater than $0 by using the built-in Smart View.
Navigate to Inventory
Select Smart Filters
Choose the Smart Filters: Items with Tariffs
You can also access it directly at:
https://app.bridallive.com/#/items/with-tariff
This is helpful for auditing items where tariff adjustments have been applied.
Important Notes
Retail Factor, Retail Factor Plus, and Tariff settings only apply to new items created after the settings are saved.
Updating these fields does not retroactively change Retail Prices on existing items.
If changes are needed for existing inventory, Retail Prices must be updated manually on each item.
