The Event Management Setup refers to the ordering process (i.e. steps) that you'd like each wedding party member to follow. When viewing the Portal, the bride is shown how far along each member is in the ordering process. She is then able to nudge her members to complete the next step. This is how you make brides work for you!
Getting Started with Event Management Steps
You can set up your own event management steps, but it easiest to start with the default Event Management Steps that come along with BridalLive. To do so, simply navigate to Settings Company Client Portal Event Management Steps. When you first arrive on this screen BridalLive will show you a button to install the default event management steps (as shown below).
Option to install default steps
After clicking this button, you'll see the default steps appear.
Default Event Management Steps
Once the default Event Management steps are installed, you will want to customize each step for your shop. You may also want to add other steps to your process as well. We recommend keeping the process simple so that your brides are easily able to help you move the brides along the process.
Add/Edit Event Management Step
To add a step, click Add Step from the top of the screen. To Edit a step, simply click "Edit" next to the step that you'd like to edit.
Edit Event Management Step
Event management steps have several settings that you can customize for your shop. They are explained below:
- Name - Name your step. The Name of the Event Management Step is displayed on the portal next to each event member. It is used to give the Bride an idea of what each member has to do next. For the Submit Measurements step shown above, the bride will be shown "Next Step: Submit Measurements" for each party member that has not yet submitted their measurements.
- Step is completed when - this setting controls when you'd like to consider the step completed. There are several options that you can choose from. Each one is described below:
- Measurements request submitted or measurements saved to contact - this option will mark the event management step completed when an event member submits a measurements request or has the measurements specified AFTER they have become a member in the party. If a returning bride becomes a bridesmaid in another party, this step will only be marked completed when the measurements request or measurements themselves are added/updated after she is added to the wedding party.
- Transaction created for one or more wedding registry items - this option will mark the event management step completed when a transaction is created for an event member that contains an item from the wedding registry.
- At least one item picked up - this option will mark the event management step completed when 1 or more items have been marked as picked up on a transaction that was created from the wedding registry
- All items picked up - this option will mark the event management step completed when all items have been picked up on a transaction that was created from the wedding registry
- At least 1 payment made - this option will mark the event management step completed when 1 or more payments have been made on a transaction created from the wedding registry. This step is perfect for ensuring that each bridesmaid places their deposit before the Purchase Order is created.
- Paid in full - this option will mark the event management step completed when there is no balance due on transactions created from the wedding registry.
- Feedback Submitted - this option will mark the event management step completed when the event member submits a feedback request. This option is great if you want to encourage your customer to leave you feedback.
- Email Template - Select the email template that you would like sent to the event member when the bride clicks "Send Reminder" on the client portal. The bride is only able to send 1 reminder per day per event management step for each member.
- Text Message Template - Select the text message template that you would like sent to the event member when the bride clicks "Send Reminder" on the client portal. The bride is only able to send 1 reminder per day per event management step for each member. We've done this to keep the cost of text messaging to a minimum.
